The addition of a second apartment in their portfolio required TaupoAccommodation.co to update their website. The 'contextual' sub-menu and responsive main menu is a great way for travellers on the go to navigate the site and the 'lazy loading' main images mean the page loads really fast. Follonico - a restored farmhouse, was a labour of love for many years for its owners, Fabio and Suzanne. Their dream was to bring it back to life as a boutique B&B and the result is astonishing. A definitive guide to typhoons in Hong Kong

An incredible work written by Michael J Jones, a former British Merchant Navy officer with over 40 years experience in the Hong Kong shipping industry. This book includes chapters specifically describing some of Hong Kong's most significant typhoon events, occurring between 1874 and the present day. It also includes chapters with detailed information on Hong Kong's rainfall, floods, landslides, water rationing, water supply, reservoirs and typhoon shelters. In Sanskrit Amita means 'without limits' and this stunning luxury villa on The Bukit in Bali needed a website that performed to the same standard. Truly responsive and mobile friendly for the discerning traveller, the Villa Amita site captures the essence of the the villa by a mosaic of beautiful images, ever-changing as you navigate the site. The simple but effective logo was also designed by Piccante Web Design to literally reflect the colours of the pool and facade of the Villa itself. The original website for Fitness U served Managing Director Tali Weiss well for over five years, but with web trends moving fast it was time for an update. Rather than a refresh, the site was completely overhauled with content re-written and images updated. It was time to say goodbye to the non-responsive layout and introduce big, bold images in the banner and update the online shopping experience - while retaining the iconic logo that has been well viewed on digital and print media.

Specialists in swimming pool refurbishment including full re-plaster and paint services, A2Z became our clients when they needed to upgrade their website to a responsive solution. A complete overhaul was required and I produced this beautiful one-off design for them to showcase their services. The addition of four image galleries that A2Z Pools can update themselves made it easy for them to add their own photos at will.

Shaanika is a newly qualified Massage Therapist who came to Piccante looking for a fresh, new look in a website. As a small business start-up, Release was working to a budget so we came to the rescue with a great design (well, we think so!) that didn't cost the earth. Naturally, the website is responsive - working on mobile devices was a big priority for Release - and it incorporates some great imagery to get you moving towards that relaxed, freshly-massaged state.

The new owners of 'Casa Cima' in Cima di Porlezza needed a fantastic website to promote their italian villa - in a fairly short timeframe. Always ready to take up a challenge, Piccante talked at length with the owners to establish their requirements before producing this custom-built, beautiful and responsive design. The site needed a balance of performance for SEO traction without sacrificing the beauty of imagery which is used extensively.

A site makeover was required by ALM to update the look of their existing website. Working closely with the team at ALM Group to understand their requirements and target market was an important part in this project. The scope and breadth of the website was a challenge in that we had to achieve a great user experience that included ALM Group's core elements - Allisee Motorhomes, Avida Motorhomes and Caravans, Jurgens Caravans, Enduro Boats and Trailers in addition to Andrew Fink Marine, Servicing and their onsite sales of stock motorhomes and caravans.

The younger sibling to LittleLocal, DimSum Baby is a completely new project for Michelle French, providing super cute asian-influenced designs in babies clothing (onesies). The DimSum Baby range currently focuses on the 'Year of the Monkey' - the perfect gift for the little monkey in your life. Minimalist and striking in design, DimSum Baby is another responsive design by Piccante Web Design - always bespoke, always custom-designed for our unique clients. No templates or WordPress used here, friends.

White House Black

White House Black, Christchurch, New Zealand

The incredibly cool White House Black in Halswell, Christchurch is a cafe, restaurant and event / reception venue all rolled into one. This app-style website features some great imagery and touch-capable menus which can be swiped through on your tablet or smartphone. Proprietors Chris and Mel are fanatical about the quality of the coffee and food presented and their drinks and wine list is continually being added to. The Headland Samui

The stunning images of beautiful Koh Samui are splashed proudly at the top of this responsive website designed for the Headland. The five villas are presented with their own image gallery and availability calendars provide the user with up-to-date information for booking. The luxurious nature of these villas needed to be represented by a modern and classy website and I think the result is elegant and impressive - a site I am proud to have in my portfolio.

The Housekeeper, aka Rachael Quin needed a more professional front to her rocketing house cleaning and management business. Designed for busy professionals and families in Auckland, the Housekeeper offers much more than just cleaning and domestic tidying. The design and colours were chosen with Rachael's new car in mind - hey, we know the importance of that - the red Piccante 500 is testiment to that - and these elements will soon be converted into vehicle livery for her grey Fiat 500.

This superbly elegant and minimalist site was developed for specialist wine importers and distributors - Vincisive of the UK. Featuring a subtle shopping cart and sliding information panels this site was able to retain its clean and uncluttered look, yet provides more detail than initially meets the eye.

A wonderful luxury villa in the south of France. La Bastide exemplifies luxury, relaxation, fun and comfort in 600 square metres of hand-carved stone style. Set on three levels, the main villa sleeps up to 12 adults and five children. There is also a self-contained apartment in the 'Pigeonnier' tower. A beautiful website for a fabulous property.

Doctor Rigo's website features some nice effects and subtle touches making this a very modern and attractive site for his clients to 'pay him a visit'. The top menu fades as the user scrolls down the page and a stylish image rotator informs and provides some light animation. Quality, professional images round this site off resulting in a clean and timeless design.

KuKo - Kultural Kompass

Immersion Spanish Language Courses, Spain

Kultural Kompass (KuKo) based in Hong Kong offers a range of immersion spanish courses in Barcelona for students and young people. The theme of travel was taken into the design for KuKo's website, with a brochure style flat and colourful design that is very much a current trend in design and user interface in today's tablet and phone operating systems. The timeless white background is complemented by a menu that slides open revealing more information about the courses that they offer. Spanish anyone?

The attention to detail of Heidi's cakes is inspiring. So we at Piccante Web Design needed to create a site that could display the amazing creations that Heidi hand-makes in all their glory. It was important to Heidi that she could easily add images to her image galleries herself - and as an avid Flickr user this was the best way to do this. We modifed a gallery that took a feed from Flickr so that everytime a new photo was uploaded to her Flickr account it automatically featured on her website.

Finding beautiful lingerie in Hong Kong can be a struggle, especially for mothers-to-be. Sexy maternity wear, sportsbras, lingerie, shapewear and sleepwear are their speciality and these are displayed using a 'lightbox' style image viewer. A sleek sliding image menu provies a visually appealing way of navigating this site which maintains the strong black and red / burgundy theme of Bralicious' distinctive look.

Its interactive features include news updating via a live Twitter feed, Content Editing System (including an editable photo gallery with lighbox viewer) and google map with custom marker. This will seem less-so after visiting Tuscany Property Advisors' website which, like the cooking in Italy, is uncomplicated and has taste! Keeping up the italian emphasis of looking good, this site uses some clever space saving techniques and custom scroll handles to avoid the aesthetically displeasing web-browser scroll bars. Bite-sized pieces of key information are displayed on the main site pages, while images and additional information opens nicely in translucent window overlays where more detail is required. A site that truly reflects modern website design.

Little Local

Unique clothing designs, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia

Little Local is a new business based in Hong Kong selling hooded sweatshirts and other products featuring unique local designs. A heavy e-commerce site was not required as the PayPal mini-cart fit the site perfectly. The advantages of using PayPal mini-cart is that the purchaser does not have to leave your website when making multiple purchases and of course Piccante can integrate the shopping cart into your website seamlessly.

Two types of image viewer are incorporated into the Little Local site, a slider / viewer on the homepage and a lightbox viewer on the product page.
